Working in High Risk Zones
How to move, communicate and photograph vulnerable communities within high-risk zones
Over the past 15 years, I have found myself in some of the world’s most challenging regions primarily to document and record the lives of everyday people caught between conflict and chaos. My aim has always been to be an honest and open witness and give dignity to those often trapped in vulnerable communities, as war, poverty, and insecurity threaten their everyday lives.
My discussion be will be centered around the ways and things one can do to prepare before, while on the ground, and after, during post-production. We will talk about how to create an honest representation of the scene, how to communicate with subjects, and how to prepare for the unexpected.
