Discussing best practices for maintenance of a personal photographic archive

Jeremy will discuss and show photographs of the recent work undertaken while preparing his collection of photography for acquisition by the prestigious photography archive at the University of St Andrews, Scotland.

Through this Focus Group we will discuss the building of a photographic archive, what is it and how to best to prepare, structure and maintain your work to help safeguard its preservation and maximise its potential.

The group will discuss organisation of the work, the importance of information and metadata in both analogue and digital collections, and the archival housing of negatives and prints, and discuss the desirability and importance of an overall searchable catalogue of the collection.
