Flash is like the photographer's own portable sun - used well it can hugely enhance your pictures, used badly it can ruin them. In this workshop, you'll learn how to use it well and avoid using it badly.

Details: If you’re an ‘ambient light only’ photographer, then you’re missing out on a lot of picture-taking opportunities.

Light is the basis of all we do as photographers, so if you’re not using some light of your own creation, you’re not maximising the images you can capture. An understanding of flash is key to being able to sculpt and shape your images, whether shooting in a studio or out on location.
With the use of Speedlites and portable flash, this workshop will take you from Speedlite nothing to Speedlite Specialist.

This workshop will cover the basics and then more advance techniques to get you using flash both indoors and outdoors on location with a model, mixing flash with ambient light so that you will learn how to adapt and shoot on location where things constantly change.

Module 1: Understanding light - ambient or artificial, understanding light and how it creates images is fundamental to learning how to control it.
Module 2: Flash metering - TTL metering is powerful and controllable - if you understand what it's trying to do and why.
Module 3: Shape, sculpt and position - having lots of light is great, but if you don't control it, then it's like trying to paint the Mona Lisa with a roller brush.
