I don’t just pass by and take pictures; I spend time, invest, and get to know the people I photograph. I aim to make a difference, big or small- at least we start somewhere. It is not a 100-meter sprint; it is a marathon.

With my work, I want to spread awareness, change stereotypes and raise the voice of the people I photograph, as these are not just pictures; these are messages, these are voices, and these are testimonies that live foreverMuhammed Muheisen is a world-renowned photographer. A two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner, a National Geographic photojournalist, founder and chairman of the Dutch non-profit organization Everyday Refugees Foundation, Global Ambassador for Jordan Tourism Board, Royal Jordanian Airlines and Canon. National Geographic Image Collection represents him.

In 2013 Muheisen was named by TIME Magazine as Best Wire Photographer. Since 2001 he has documented major events worldwide, in Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the USA. For over a decade and a half, he has been documenting the refugee crisis in different parts of the world.
